A sacred place, born on the ruins of an ancient Roman temple. In ancient times, it was shaped like a stone ship, with an obelisk in the center representing the main mast. Today, just like then, it’s the most scenic way to cross the river—soaking in its magic as you walk from the city center to Trastevere.

Tradition

We’re the third generation. Our family has run Tiberino since 1936, when my grandfather first put down roots on the island. What started as a small shop is now one of the best places in Rome to experience authentic Roman cuisine.

Quality

We’re proud of our Ravioli alla Gricia—the ancestor of Amatriciana and a sibling of Cacio e Pepe. It tells the story of Lazio’s shepherds, who created delicious meals from simple ingredients. Another favorite? Our Uovo barzotto, served by the spoonful with pecorino cream, crispy guanciale and a hint of mint. Guests often describe it as “sublime” and “absolutely delicious!

Noi rappresentiamo la terza generazione, la nostra famiglia gestisce il Tiberino dal 1936, da quando mio nonno mise le sue radici sull’isola. Da una piccola bottega oggi il Tiberino rappresenta uno dei posti migliori dove poter assaporare la vera cucina tradizionale romana.

Il nostro vanto sono i Ravioli alla Gricia, antenati dell’Amatriciana e figli della Cacio e Pepe. Portano con sé la storia dei pastori laziali che, con pochi ingredienti, creavano un piatto semplice e saporito.

Altro cavallo di razza è il nostro Uovo Barzotto da gustare al cucchiaio con la sua crema di pecorino, guanciale croccante e un tocco di menta. I nostri clienti lo definiscono “sublime” e “delizioso”!

Tiberino is the perfect setting for business lunches or dinners in an elegant yet cozy atmosphere—ideal for enjoying Roman cuisine with a modern twist.
All our dishes reflect the seasons and the best our region has to offer.
For corporate or private events, we offer custom menus and tasting options, including vegetarian choices.
We have two indoor dining rooms, seating 20 and 30 guests respectively. Both are air-conditioned and soundproofed.

Our ingredients are carefully selected by our chef and family.
We believe in using only high-quality, seasonal, organic and locally sourced products. We personally meet our suppliers to learn about their philosophy and visit their land—because that’s where it all begins.
We use free-range organic eggs.
No pre-made products—everything is made in-house by our team.
Even the pistachios: we buy them raw, roast and grind them ourselves—only then are they ready for our gelato.
The result? A burst of unforgettable flavor!
